These Quick Guides were developed to accompany A Provider’s Introduction to Substance Abuse Treatment for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Individuals (A Provider’s Introduction) published by the Center for Substance Abuse Treatment (CSAT), Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA). They are designed to meet the needs of administrators and clinicians for concise, easily accessed “how-to” information. The Quick Guide for Administrators will help administrators design and administer programs that provide a comfortable treatment environment for LGBT individuals. The Quick Guide for Clinicians will help clinicians better understand the needs of their LGBT clients and create a comfortable treatment environment for them.
