In My Own Words...
A Celebration of Recovery Month 2012
In recognition of Recovery Month 2012, the ATTC National Office, in partnership with Faces & Voices of Recovery and the Institute for the Health and Security of Military Families, invites military service members and veterans to share YOUR STORY OF RECOVERY from substance abuse and/or mental health disorders.
As an active or former service member in recovery, YOUR STORY can provide a unique perspective and give hope to other service members,
veterans and their families struggling to recover
from their own substance use and/or mental
health disorders.
We are asking for military members and veterans to tell share YOUR STORY of recovery using the following statements as guides:
- The most challenging part about being a service member or veteran in recovery from an addiction/mental health disorder is...

This year's "In My Own Words..." Essay Contest will open on September 7, 2012, and close October 7, 2012. The Top 20 submissions will be included in a compilitation, and prizes will be awarded to the First, Second and Third place essays - selected by a three-member Essay Review Board. Winners will be notified by November 17, 2012.
